From every quarter, I am hearing how it has been such a tough year. Almost without fail, people are weary and want to check out of their lives. Circumstances are daunting.
My home and life are no exceptions. What in the world? We just opened a new year. If you follow the prophetic at all, we are hearing all kinds of glowing promises. Anybody else thinking seriously on what planet is this unfolding?
One of my sons—the one with the injury that has kept him unable to walk for six months now—spoke this to me today. Talk about an ice cube down your shirt. He basically said, instead of looking at the numerous little things besetting you, look at the synergy of tackling them together. The synergy will plow down the seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
I took the challenge to fast a meal a day for 21 days for breakthrough. I believe all we are facing really is the mercy of GOD even though it hurts and squeezes until we scream and try to escape. HE is exposing all that is not reflecting HIM. HE is reminding me what we sang in worship. What we begged HIM as we lay prostrate before HIS throne. Again, we always forget to give HIM qualifiers.
HE took me to Judges 6. I got 25 points and could preach for months on this chapter alone. Great oppression, idolatry, and loss of everything were Israel’s lot through her own disregard of GOD.
Gideon identified himself as the weakest and least. Yet GOD addresses him as a mighty man of valor. No matter what we have done or where we find ourselves, HE has seen our future. It is not a bitter end.
The LORD said: Go in the strength you have, rescue your nation, and I will be with you.The LORD did not care what Gideon confessed about himself or his worth. He spoke in agreement with what the FATHER said. The least became the savior of his nation against a formidable enemy.
Again the LORD ignored Gideon speaking his own perception of self. HE says I will be with you. You will destroy the enemy as one man. Gather all your troubles, fix your eyes on HIM, rise up in your strength, and GO. HE promises HE will go with us. Our part is to rise up from our place and run with the strength we possess. When you do that, the synergy will kick in as others and angels will flank you. Victory is ours in 2016. Take it moment by moment. Strength is for the moment. Not for tomorrow, next month, or even three months from now. It is now.
Watch what HE does, and who will come beside you. Be alert and be ready to rejoice in HIS goodness
