Daniel and Malicious Intent

As much as I want to say that the church is wise and “enlightened” it grieves me the level of deception that has crept into our midst. Cloaked in so much twisting and rhetoric that sounds so “ on” we often miss the malice set in
motion. Just as deep and radical the love of the GODHEAD for us that is the level of hatred and malice Satan and his angels has for you. I pray LORD dispatch the angels who are carrying the sword of disclosure.

The last two days were a whirlwind of some intense spiritual encounters while on assignment. I am so grateful for unfailing love of GOD that sweeps over us in the midst of such darkness. So glad for the debrief time with HIM in the secret place; for those of other giftings and shared purpose of following HIS path.

Just this morning in “our garden spot” HE led me to Daniel 6. Yes I confess I had to view the Veggie Tales version at some point. I love this chapter. We all know it frontwards and backwards. Or so I thought. Darius loved Daniel and trusted him above all his officers and advisers. He was second only to the king. That caused the others to be jealous and they developed malicious intent toward Daniel. The definition of malicious is intent or desire to injure another or to spite. The enemy studies us. I like to say grid by grid. They know our every cell. They knew the perfect trap to lay for Darius and Daniel.

Pride and position almost made the king kill the prophet he loved. The prophet who spoke truth and brought prosperity to his kingdom was in the sights of the enemy to take his favor and position by force. The pride and
position blinded the king to see what was all the rhetoric, twisting, and true intent of the other officers. In that deception he signed a law in haste that bound him to the officers coming with malicious intent. Irrevocable!
Fast forward to now Daniel landed smack dab in the middle of hungry lions with all exits sealed. No loophole to the rescue.

The king now realized the gravity of his erroneous move. Listening to the voice of evil as it promised him worship and adoration- elevation and promotion. He now was reduced to responding not as a king, but a man who had such love and respect for this second in command named Daniel. Words like in turmoil all night, rose very early in the morning, hurried to the den of lions, and he yelled out in anguish are recorded. He feared the worst- but cried out in
hope that this GOD who Daniel worshiped came to rescue him.

Daniel answers. He holds no grudge or ill against his king. He gives him honor by wishing him long life. He declared his GOD saved him, and proved his innocence in the sight of GOD. Also he says to the king I have not wronged you oh king. Honor and blessing in the face of injustice and impending destruction. Not even a scratch from the lions. Their mouths were shut! Oh to silence more roaring voices. Swift justice to those who bought malice intent against the prophet! Not only the accusing officers but wives and children were thrown to the lions they never even touched the bottom of the den and they were shredded.

Oh for all who love justice and redemption the ending is cause for great celebration and rejoicing.

Daniel 6:25- 27(NLT) “Then King Darius sent this message to the people of every race and nation and language throughout the world. Peace and prosperity to you! I decree that everyone throughout my kingdom should tremble with fear before the God of Daniel. For HE is the living GOD, and HE will endure forever. HIS kingdom will never be destroyed, and HIS rule will never end. HE rescues and saves HIS people; HE performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on earth.

HE has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.”

Let us pray for wisdom and discernment like never before. Let us keep our eyes on HIM. Always burn bright in our eyes and heart with HIS love for no evil can conquer the pure, true love of GOD.

Daniel 6 end with Daniel prospered for the duration of the Darius’s reign and the reign of Cyrus. May we be found in his tribe!
