Commander in Chief

By: Hannah S. Hunter

Proverbs 3:12(AMP) “For those whom the Lord loves He corrects, even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.”

Delight is an adjective, verb, and even an abstract noun. Represents qualities or ideas. Such an all-inclusive word. I see it permeating every cell and even into bone marrow. Such a positive life-giving concept.

In the Scriptures the word delight is used about one-hundred ten times. Most of the times it has to do with when the Trinity speak of us or their creation. Also, our response when we interact with GOD or reflect on Him.

For many of us it conjures up images of a great meal, our families and friends, or unexpected gift. Yet the concept in eyes of heaven has to do with people not things.

Having said that we must deal with what this verse says before we get to delight. We are so thrilled to read how HE delights in us, but that is at the end of the verse.

First comes the part we would rather gloss over. Of course, we love the opening that He loves us-with unfailing love the Word says. Then comes the nose wrinkle, bad face, and cover your ears part- He corrects.

As we mature in age, spiritual walk, raise up leaders, and lead many others it is more difficult to find someone who can speak correction to us. Sometimes they need to be tenacious and bold. In the body of Christ recently I have been grieved to see anointed servants fall because they did not bow and humble themselves to correction.

Oh God send those who will not compromise or rush when they are correcting the generals, commanders, and all matter of leaders in the church. Let us the corrected ones submit well.

Struggles and bondages are not always apparent in the mature leader. Especially to themselves. There maybe a sense of something is not quite right. There maybe an impatience, easier provocation in situations, or undue anger. It is more difficult to seek counsel or submit when found.

We are too busy to stop, what will people say or think, or we convince ourselves it will work out or the Holy Spirit will be our counselor. I do not need anyone.

How this must grieve the heart of God. What we do not deal with transfers to the people we lead. When we lay hands on someone undealt with stuff is transferred to them. If you try to cast out a demon in someone else, you are carrying it just laughs.

God used the word to me wavering errant general when He spoke to me. You know when you are advanced in international arena and authority God pulls no punches.

When He plants the commander in chief to the nation you are assigned to in your home for a week where do you escape to? You are in a foreign land with no ticket home. Your food, water, clothes, and stuff are there. When she fixes those piercing eyes on you and the finger begins to wag you best listen and submit.

Have mercy on my interpreter. The other evening it was four hours and I got homework. Yet I am embracing this because I feel fresh air blowing and refreshing coming to places, I did not know were sealed against the light and truth. Oh, thank God for loving mercy to stabilize and redirect His generals in this season. It is not disqualification but set up for promotion to be able to release us to a higher and greater assignment in His fields. In a few minutes she is coming again with the interpreter. Even news reports explosion in Kenya. Know all will be well.
