Miracles in Motion
By: Hannah S. Hunter
Mark 10:15(NLT) “I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of Heaven like a child will never enter it.”
We dusted ourselves off from the powerful blow dealt us as a nation of a supposed looming pandemic. With all the smoking mirrors, innuendos, and information being disseminated to us we had to use wisdom to sift through it all. People as individuals, businesses, families, and churches had to process giving grace regarding timetables. Nothing was left unscathed.
One of things we did was try to recreate a normal routine for our children and my grandbabies. Besides school subjects and life skills we engaged the spiritual and that realm in our curriculum. At least several times a week we would walk to the gates of their school. Anoint the gates, pray, send angels, speak to the teachers and principal through the atmosphere in prayer, and command the gates to open and allow education to resume. It became a routine where children would begin to follow us and watch this prayer meeting.
Last Sunday for the first time since the lockdown we were allowed to have our children with us in the service. I spoke Mark 10:13,14,16 over them and sang a song I learned as a child how Jesus loves all the little children, red, and yellow, black, and white. They are precious in His sight.
Right before I was called to the pulpit to preach Dan was preparing my phone to broadcast the sermon. When he handed it back to me, I saw I had a message from the prophet Elijah, who is a prophet, in Nairobi to the government. He was announcing to me the birth his daughter, Ellah. His wife is a police officer with the government in Nairobi.
How appropriate this little prophet judge opened her mothers’ womb in time for us to welcome our children in our midst. Prayers, cries of our heart, and declarations weekly from our altar spoke for us at the throne of grace. It was such a day of rejoicing for me.
This morning I was speaking with Prophet Elijah. He was relating how little Ellah smiles as she sees angels. Babies remember with clarity what heaven looks and sounds like. They can see far better into the spirit realm than this physical world at this age. If only we could harness this and not lose it. Sadly, our senses and focus become so keen to this world we lose the crispness of vision of the unseen world.
As is my custom I was walking with my grandchildren. School closings and bans from church causes such a frustration to their little minds and bodies. On days when my schedule allows, we take long walks, pick flowers, examine everything we see, eat berries, and end up at the school gate. We pray, anoint, and command the gates to open up, call for the teachers to come, and the government to move to open schools.
Praying I noticed a man approaching, leaning on the wall by the gate, talking on his phone, but watching us. When we were done, he hung up from his call and asked me, “What are you doing?” I related to him we have been coming to pray that this school must open, these children must be educated, and we believe it will be before the end of the year.
Found out he is the groundskeeper. He opened the gate, invited us in, and told us we could have the run of the place. The kids made a beeline for the playground apparatus. I prayed my heart out and offered much thanksgiving for His goodness to us. Once I corralled the children and we began our trek home I reminded them of the miracle we had just seen. Gate opened. We were invited in. We were given run of the place by the authority on that land.
They could not wait to get home and excitedly chattered over top of one another regaling their parents of the miracle they were a part of. That is how we build the faith of our children and rehearse the mighty acts of God with them.
Next week I begin my journey to some rest and recreation with my birth family and my biological sons and their ladies. I am looking forward to this season. I am waiting with great expectation to hear that the schools in Kenya threw open their doors with no repercussions. Laughter, learning, and loudness will echo the halls of school in a place called Kilgoris, Kenya.
