Non-Debate

Titus 3:9(Passion) “But avoid useless controversies, genealogies, pointless quarrels, and arguments over the law, which will get you nowhere.”
Right up front I will tell you I did not watch the debate. I, instead, went into prayer. I knew when I saw the players it was not going to be a debate but a circus of tragedies.
Debate is defined as a formal and planned discussion on a particular topic. They are held in a public meeting or a legislative assembly, in which opposing arguments are put forward.
French debatre was from a Latin verb meaning 'to knock down' or 'to fight' and now that we are “civilized” we say, 'to argue about'. In English, a debate was originally a fight or an argument, but it has also become the standard word for a formal discussion between people with opposing views.
Live and death is in the tongue. The soul takes fatal blows and assaults through the tongue. I would rather we come to blows then what I read on social media or hear on what we loosely describe as the news. Hell, and the demons are filled with glee over our debates. Few who call themselves Christian reflect the compassionate heart of the Father. Soon heaven is going to fill bottles of tears from the citizens of heaven over the actions of HIS children here on earth.
Kenya is where I was in the midst of all the pandemic. We had many hardships and persecution. Yet NONE, I mean NONE, of that caused me the pain and rage at injustice that I feel watching my own nation of birth implode and slay each other in the name of being right. May God have mercy on us.
Since arriving in USA a month ago I have yet to pick up a newspaper, turn on news, or even look online for news. No longer is news reported. It is the reporter’s opinion and it is never upbuilding to either side. We slash and trash. The soul of America is bleeding from stab wound to the femoral and aorta. Only God can save us now by a miracle.
Church we can turn this around. It is at our doorstep to seek His face with humble, change direction, repentant hearts. There is strategy and fellow warriors are poised. First in the secret prayer places and then fully strengthened and equipped. Through prayer locust did not touch our county, we had enough water even in drought, we never starved, and Covid did not come near our houses nor church. Not that tragedy does not touch us, but it does not destroy us. HE promises to deliver us out of them all.
True story!!! I was called to college campus where an election had divided the students so radically. HIV men were brought in by one party to rape ladies who opposed their stands. Two men had died from hacking and a third in ICU fighting for his life. Buildings were being burned. We arrived under the cover of darkness.
We met for worship and I was in a white outfit. The Holy Spirit instructed me to lay prostrate on their altar. These hundreds of students had to see the prophet humbly lay before the Lord. We spent the weekend in worship, instruction, repentance and getting strategy from the Lord. Time was not an issue but finishing His instructions was.
No Christian had been a part of this violence and debacle, but we were commanded to stand in the gap and repent and restore. That is our job as the church.
Retreating and retiring is not our portion. If I had offered debates or took sides with the political parties the deaths and rapes would have increased. Before I ever spoke one word I laid before Him on His altar until He spoke.
First time ever the campus of that college had a peaceful election. To this day they rehearse the goodness of God in that election. Blessed are the peacemakers who first confront sin and lies and bring true peace. Who will join me on my face at His altar until our nation is one under God again?
