Vigilant Observations

Locusts. As an American I am aware of swarms devastating our crops decade of the 1850 through the decade ending in 1880. The last attack was 1930 which my grandparents could retell. Since then nothing.

Revelations nine talks about locusts being unleashed from the pit of hell to torment wicked people. They are a symbol in the Bible of God’s wrath and judgment.

Exodus ten opens with the eighth plague to come upon Egypt. God was dismantling and exposing as fraud the gods and idols of Egypt through the ten plagues. Fifth plague killed the livestock. No meat on the table tonight. The seventh was hail that had wiped out most of the vegetation. Now locusts. Not even one leaf was left. Yikes. NO ugali.

Pharaoh only repented to the degree it would rid his land of this plague. True repentance is letting God create a new heart that renews the mind, brings emotions into correct alignment, and the will is submitted to God.

The east wind blew them locusts in. The west wind blew them into the Red Sea. Now let the water demons deal with them.

Our news in east Africa is letting us know a swarm of locusts are heading our way. First thing we as the people of God is ask what do we need to know and do? Judgment severity or leniency often hinges on the response of the church.

Here is what we know. This was prophesied about a year ago by an African prophet. God’s river and fire is starting in Kenya and working west and south. The same projected path the locusts will take. It came from the east(wind) and north. It is being carried west and south.

Interesting in Exodus when taken away by winds to the Red Sea the Red Sea is a seawater inlet for Indian Ocean which has a coast in Somalia and Kenya. It also has a Red Sea Rift which is part of the Great Rift Valley in Kenya.

Unusual rains and flooding make conditions right for locust to flourish. As if nature is cooperating with this plague. Already the locusts are in our northern counties. Agriculture is so key to survival. Almost every piece of land not grazed or has housing is used for planting food stuff for families and for selling to earn income. We are encouraged to lay in extra stock. Okay but refrigeration and storage are limited. Our only hope is in our God who holds all things together.

I preached on this Sunday and am challenging my ministry school students to seek Him for answers and strategy. I do see four large angels standing facing out from Kilgoris They are shoulder to shoulder and watchful. I see them with access to fire, wind, and water. Three elements I see on one of the night watches the enemy wants to control. The angels are waiting for His signal. He is waiting for our response. Oh, church let us make this an event that goes down in history that the church took her place and turned back judgment and brought deliverance to the land.

The hope, signals, and alliances He is giving us are too numerous to recount here. He is being so faithful to those who humbly are faithful to Him. I want to challenge my brethren in my land of born- the United States of America. Please stand and pray with us as we appeal to heaven. My dear brethren in Kenya are forming groups and faithfully praying over my land and my President. May we be found faithful and pleasing to our God. God save Kenya!
